The end of delays... I hope.

SO, seems that boss model I promised won't be done for another two days or so. I apologize for that, but I've been dealing with several matters regarding my current financial status and schooling as of late and they've been keeping me rather preoccupied - more so than I enjoy.
As soon as all this settles down, of course, things will be going at a much better pace, but as of this current point in time, things around me are rather shakey.
No way is this project going to close down at any point, though, I'll go right out and say that now - there may be delays here and there, but I'm not going to give this endeavor up. I've been planning this thing out for 2 years now and am finally working on it. It started at a bad time for me, sure, but a crest always follows a trough.

Again, I apologize for the wait, and it'll be a little longer so I'll make sure I add something extra in to make it worth your time.

Thanks for understand.

THE FIRST UPDATE

Man, I've been away for not as long as I'd thought. Still, its too long for my taste.
So, I return with news and gifts (so to speak).
I'd been doing some work over the last few days (quite literally, all of 2 days, and not even 12 hours each - let alone a full 24) and can now show you the 5, 1180 faced models for the first dragon type monster.
I know, I know, dragons are vanilla as all hell, which is actually why I did it - it was an experiment to see what I could do with blend shapes, as they will be a large part of the monster raising mechanic.

So! Without further adieu, here's what I have so far:

These three were the initial models - the vanilla, balanced/even stat growth route.

From there - as some initial testing - I made some models for the Defensive Primary route, then lined them all up.

... However, the adult Defensive form looked a tad... Stupid with that nub thing. So I Changed it.

And now we have Pompadragon: The Immoveable Grease Lizard. (Or something like that.)

And as of today, I'm gonna' be working on a more.... Enthusiasm building boss.
I'll post that once its finished - more than likely, tomorrow.

Let's begin with an explaination....

It seems a little odd to simply throw people into the middle of an idea, so I feel I should do a bit of back tracking here.

The project began as a simple idea: make a game similar to the Sonic Adventure 1/2 Chao Gardens. An easy enough idea, yes? I thought so, though it seemed that I was alone in the ambition to do it. So, my work began towards that, with rather simple and child-directed concepts and the like, though certain other aspects were rather lacking, it seemed. Eventually, it seemed like simply raising a creature would be too little incentive and fun for some people, which was perfectly fine with me. So, I decided to make it a little more towards the RPG side of things, adding in using the monsters as teammates for combat. Plot would be figured out later (and still needs some working out).

Then I got to thinking about the art direction this was going in. Realizing that I didn't want it to be solely in a Digimon-esque art style, I figured it was time to move past that, just a bit, and go a little more serious and realistic route. So, I looked through some things again, and decided on adding the Monster Hunter series as an inspirational source. But, since I still wanted to keep the work I had, I decided to just lengthen the amount of growth stages (the current now being 5 stages: infant, young, adolescent, adult, and elder). There was also a matter as to how the gameplay for battle and exploring would pan out to be, which I'm still unsure of - though its looking like I might go with something like Monster Hunter, yet again, for this idea.

And that's about all my thinking has gotten up to, to make it quick. So, here we go, with the bringing of this idea out to.... Here.
